MEET YOUR CO-HOSTS:

Hello! I’m thrilled to co-host the first Worldschool pop up hub in Singapore! I’m Mei. I was born in Singapore however I grew up in the northern Virginia, USA and now I live with my husband and kids in southern California. I’m excited to celebrate Lunar New Year for the first time in Singapore with my two young children, who will be 7 and almost 5 at the time of the hub. We have visited as a family twice before, but I know we will love experiencing the city with new friends. I’m looking forward to visiting my favorite spots while having some new adventures as well.

Hi everyone! My name is Angie and together with my husband Jay, we have 3 kids aged 9, 5, and 2. We are not worldschoolers but very intrigued by the lifestyle and would love to be able to adopt it someday. However, we are avid travellers - my eldest had visited places like South Africa, Morroco, various European countries, US, and of course a handful of South East Asian countries. The second born and last born have much lesser travel experience (no thanks to covid! but also because 3 kids is really quite a handful!). But we did manage to take a 3 week trip to Turkiye recently, driving 4000 Km around the country.  We attended the last pop up at Yogyarta and enjoyed meeting the community and would love to host worldschoolers in our home base, Singapore! Yes, Singapore is an expensive destination but I believe it's an amazing destination where anyone from any part of the world will feel comfortable in. I hope to introduce the hidden spots/ free spots/ cultural spots of Singapore, coming from a local lens :) And of course, the glorious food! Food is Singaporeans' love language and I invite you to come experience it and fall in love with the diversity of our culture and food!

LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS & TRANSPORT:

Singapore is quite small, so anywhere downtown is really fine. Singapore is a safe city and everywhere is well connected! The key is to be near a metro station. Some recommended areas are Orchard, City Hall, Farrer Park, etc.

One co-host is staying in the Yishun area (quite a way out of the center), the other will update soon.
