About The Event
Come join us in Mexico City for Santa Semana (holy week before Easter). We're planning a fun-filled and community-centered Worldschooling Pop-Up, April 9-16, 2022.
Our pop-ups provide a super casual, budget-friendly opportunity to gather together, connect with other worldschoolers, share your insights, instill new friendships, learn about the local area, and immerse in a friendly, accepting mobile community.
We've cherry-picked the best low- or no-cost activities that highlight local nature, arts, history, food, and culture....but you'll also have plenty of time to relax, get to know each other and even stray from the itinerary to add activities that cater to the group's interests (we provide plenty of supplemental ideas to tailor your experience).
Pop in for a few days or the full week. Join as many activities as you'd like. It's up to you! We would love to have you come and simply hang out with like-minded families while we dive in and explore the local offerings.
Our itinerary will include activities such as the following:
*Castillo de Chapultepec
*Centro Historico architecture & museums
*Teotihuacan
*Museo Templo Mayor (short trip to Tenochtitlan, they're still uncovering ruins here)
*Pedestrian Street Experiences (Zocolo/Avenida Madero, Avenida Paseo de La Reforma)
*Sunset views from the platform at Torre Latinoamericana
*Museo Nacional de Antropologia
*Cafebreria El Pendulo (kid-friendly bookstore / cafe / garden not far from Parque San Martin)
*Ethnic districts: Options include Chinatown, Korean District, Spanish enclave, and even an “American sector”
*Visit the floating vendors at Trajineras of Xochimilco
*A trip to Iztapalapa for the Holy Week play and other festivities
Add-on options include:
Palacio de Los Bellas Artes, Palacio Postal, Catedral Metropolitana, Museo Nacional de Arte, as well as Gran Hotel, the National Palace, Iturbide Palace, Basilica de Guadalupe, Frida Kahlo's house, Desierto De Los Leones, and more!

LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS:
Where to stay: CDMX is a massive, sprawling region and we will have activities spread across multiple areas. However Cuauhtémoc is central and is also likely to be the area we would spend the most time in...it's also the most well-known, most popular, and comprises many of the neighborhoods considered the most safe. Analogous to Manhattan for NYC, Cuauhtémoc is the borough that contains Centro Historico, Zona Rosa, Roma, La Condesa, Paseo de la Reforma, and is adjacent to Polanco.
The host will be staying at the northern edge of Roma Norte. Another family is staying in the Centro area between Templo de San Agustín and Parroquia de Jesús Nazareno e Inmaculada Concepción.
