About The Event

Come join us in Krakow, Poland for a fun-filled and community-centered worldschooling gathering November 10 - 16, 2024.

The Worldschool Pop-Up Hub provides super casual, budget-friendly opportunities to gather, connect with other worldschoolers, learn about the local area, instill new friendships, share your insights, and immerse in a friendly, accepting mobile community. Our activities highlight local nature, history, food, and culture... but you'll also have plenty of time to relax, get to know each other, and even stray from the itinerary to add activities that cater to the group's interests.

Pop in for a few days or the full week. Join as many activities as you'd like. It's up to you!

Our itinerary will include activities such as the following:

*Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral

*Main Market Square (Rynek Główny)

*Kazimierz District, the historic Jewish quarter

*Planty Park - A scenic park that encircles the Old Town, where the city walls once stood.

*Nowa Huta, a planned socialist realist district

*Schindler's Factory (Muzeum Fabryka Schindlera)

*Loads of museums: aviation, engineering, transport, art, & history

*The Barbican and Florian Gate

*Błonia Krakowskie - A large meadow near the city center, offering a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

MEET YOUR HOSTs: Dawid / Karolina / Rachel

We are Dawid and Karolina, and along with our two adventurous kids, Mia (9) and Leo (5), we have embraced the worldschooling lifestyle for the past two years. However, our love for travel and exploration has been a lifelong adventure.  Our travels have taken us to many incredible destinations, but we hold a special place in our hearts for the Far East, particularly Japan, especially Kyoto. We are Polish citizens with a home base in the beautiful city of Krakow. Krakow is an incredible city with its own rich history and vibrant culture, offering so much to explore. We're thrilled to share it with you. We can't wait to meet other worldschooling families and create some fantastic memories together here in Krakow. See you soon!

Rachel & family sold everything in 2014 and never have looked back. We've been completely nomadic since 2018, homeschooling our three children. Some of our favorite family travel destinations include Romania, New Zealand, Spain, London, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan. Our two younger kids will join the Pop-Up and will be 15 and 17 years old. We run the Worldschool Pop-Up Hub and love the people we get to meet from this venture. So far, we've personally hosted or co-hosted more than 25 events and have attended a handful more. Can't wait to invite you into our mobile communities.

LODGING & NEIGHBORHOODS & TRANSPORT:

Staying in or near the Old Town is the most central location for our activities. The Wesola neighborhood is located east of the Old Town, just a 15-minute walk from the Main Square. Wesoła is known for its peaceful, residential atmosphere with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and small shops, all while being conveniently close to the city’s main attractions and cultural sites.

Krakow is a very walkable city, but also has a reliable public transit system. If you plan to use public transport, we recommend staying close to the tram lines. Trams are easy to use, being faster and more reliable than the buses. Taxis and ride share apps are also available. One host family will be staying directly in the Old Town, the other is in Wesola.
